  1. China accounted for 50% of PPE manufacturing in 2020 followed by Taiwan at 20% in 2019
  2. Coveralls and Fluid resistant apron will account for more than 75% of global PPE demand by value in 2020

  1. Testing of skin like material for the purpose of replacing gloves while giving better control and avoiding tear scares are currently being developed in labs across Europe. This will also have sensors which detect when it needs to be disinfected and sanitized or replaced
  2. Many manufacturers have come up in Spain to supply PPE due to the shortage. Most of them belong to other industries but will stay in this due to the demand
  3. In Germany, due the corona outbreak, multiple unions spoke out against the lack of PPE and the supply chain had to be centralized. The PPE post epidemic will be partially centralized to supply to all parts of the country and to stabilize pricing
  4. Multiple companies came across to help during the pandemic by retooling or re-structuring their manufacturing line up to build PPE necessary to combat Corona outbreak. They also used their supply chains to gather necessary materials required. Many companies collaborated with other manufacturers to build necessary PPEs and also called out for manufacturers to unite to develop necessary equipment.
  5. Brooks Brothers converted its New York, North Carolina and Massachusetts factories from manufacturing ties, shirts and suits to making masks and gowns. Brooks Brothers planed to use these facilities to produce up to 150,000 masks per day, to help increase access to protective gear for health care workers during the Corona pandemic
  6. Under Armour began to manufacture and assemble face masks, face shields and specially equipped fanny packs, and fabricated hospital gowns for the statewide medical system
