From the back cover:

A Magical Birthday Cake for You is a charming tale of a dog who can bake cakes and his group of animal friends who have the magical ability to talk with one another.

Children will be delighted to hear and see the dogs and their other animal friends prepare for and celebrate a birthday party for “someone” special. The book invites the children into a fantasy world where a child’s mind travels with ease, comes alive with giggles and realizes we are all different but yet all the same when we treat one another with kindness, enjoy one another’s company and have fun, particularly eating cake.

About the author and illustrator:

Jeannie Dapra lives on the Connecticut shoreline with her husband, Richard. They have four grandchildren who inspire her with a magical world they understand and share with their “Nana”.

Jeannie is a nurse but has also been an entrepreneur, community volunteer and freelance writer as well as the author of A Magical Journey to Nana-Tucket, an award-winning Christmas story.

Children’s attraction to and love of dogs as well as Semper Fi Jake, a shar-pei who gave her unconditional love and her two “granddogs”, Tippet and Trout, inspired her to create the story. Jeannie loves children, books and all things whimsical that may bring joy to children.

Vicki Newton lives on a farm with her husband, Matt, and a group of rescue horses (and a donkey) in Connecticut. Vicki has been involved with art all of her life including co-ownership and operation of a multilocation graphics firm with her husband for many years. She works locally with children as a volunteer and serves as a board member of High Hopes Therapeutic Riding in Lyme, CT. Her interest in art has lately been focused on the canine world for which she creates portraits of all breeds.
