Led by CEO Dale W. Wood, global investment firm Dale Ventures (www.Dale.com) has committed a seed investment of more than $500,000 to TechMet Limited, a private metals company launched by industry veteran Brian Menell.

This significant starting investment reflects Dale Wood’s confidence in Menell’s rich industry experience, including 25 years of owning, developing and operating natural resource and mining projects across the world. Before launching TechMet, Brian Menell served as CEO of the Kemet Group, a leading manufacturer of electronic components. His family’s company, Anglovaal Group, has been a significant player in the African mining and industrial scene for 80 years.

“I have the utmost confidence that, with Brian Menell at the helm, TechMet has a successful future ahead,” Dale W. Wood said. “With Brian’s track-record, the TechMet team appears poised to provide some of the most sought after metals fueling the technologies of the future.”

TechMet is establishing itself as a key player in the world of industry by building controlling or significant minority positions in world-class projects across the technology metal supply chain. Through its projects, TechMet is able to secure the supply of metals critical to the future growth of electric vehicles, energy storage and renewable energy.

The worlds of mining and technology are undergoing a seismic transformation in how they produce and use energy. TechNet’s model invests in projects that secure primary resources for electric vehicles through socially and environmentally responsible mining operations; develop refining and processing facilities that produce specialty metals and chemicals for energy storage; and build battery recycling operations that capture the increasing volume of metals stored in existing applications to meet modern-day demands for renewable energy.

“These radical shifts represent ‘once-in-a-century’ investment opportunities and will re-shape not just whole industries, but also the geopolitical landscape,” TechMet CEO Brian Menell said. “A key to success will be the ability to secure the supply of its building blocks – the technology metals.”

TechMet has ongoing projects in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Rwanda and Burundi, among others, making it a natural fit for Dale Ventures’ worldwide portfolio. This significant seed investment will allow TechMet to grow in various regions with the backing of an investor with global business acumen and a knack for helping technology companies thrive. In addition to Dale W. Wood, the company has attracted other key investors including Franz Humer, a friend and investing partner of Dale Wood.
