Award-Winning ‘Resumes for Children’ by Donna Kristine Manley – It’s Never Too Early to Document Success.

Book teaches kids and teens how to write a resume

Donna Kristine Manley is passionate about helping children succeed, and her book, ‘Resumes for Children – 17 Years Old and Under’ is helping youth get ahead by teaching them how to write resumes now.

“Your child is going to need a resume in the future for a variety of opportunities, so writing a resume now, preferably before the teen years, gives him or her a step up in life,” says Manley. First jobs, college entrances, and everything in between can require a well-written resume, and that’s where this unique and award-winning book comes in.

In ‘Resumes for Children’, Manley offers sample resumes showing how a child’s abilities, skills, and talents can lead them towards success. The French and Spanish resume translations in the book are fantastic bonus ideas for that bilingual child. The book also features children who are pursuing goals such as piloting, diving, and book reviewing, while offering ideas on activities that kids can do to help build their resume.

Plus, included cover letters can be used as guides for requesting funds to continue activities, as well as a list of sample references for kids.

Manley states a resume does the following for a child: presents a child as an investment opportunity, shows that a child is more than their report card says that they are, and boosts a child’s self-esteem.

‘Resumes for Children’ is a Mom’s Choice Award Gold recipient and a Story Monster’s Approved award winner in the tween/young adults category for Excellence in Literature. Manley is excited to announce that ‘Resumes for Children’ was purchased by Emory University for their summer program, while Western Kentucky University and the August, Georgia Department of Labor have also purchased the book.

A child’s resume can be used to advertise their small business, to interview for an academic slot, or to enter a competition. ‘Resumes for Children’ can provide a wealth of resources and ideas for creating a successful resume for a teen or tween. For any parent who is committed to raising educated, well spoken, and respectful kids, ‘Resumes for Children’ can help set the stage for success. The book is available now for purchase.
