DALLAS, Texas – November 9, 2020 – The Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for the Nexx Smart Alarm, which turns existing home alarms into smart alarms, is ending soon. Nexx, a tech startup making simple-to-use smart products that provide advanced monitoring and control of your home, has raised nearly $70,000 via Kickstarter. The campaign closes on Friday, November 6, at 11:59 EST.
Nexx Smart Alarm works with existing alarm equipment to expand that equipment’s capabilities, enabling round-the-clock monitoring of the home from any smart device. It is compatible with alarm systems made by Honeywell, ATD, First Alert, and DSC. The device can be installed in less than 10 minutes, and the app enables users to operate and monitor their home security system from any location. With Nexx Smart Alarm, users can control their alarm system using all the major voice-activation providers like Amazon Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant.

In addition to saving customers the cost and inconvenience of replacing an entire alarm system, the Nexx Smart Alarm, with its extensive self-monitoring capabilities, means customers no longer need to pay monthly fees to a monitoring provider, a savings of hundreds of dollars a year. Customers who do desire an extra layer of security, however, can use Nexx Smart Alarm with a monitoring service.
Nexx offers a features-rich Standard plan as well as the optional Pro Plan for a modest monthly fee. The Pro Plan includes a “set-it-and-forget-it” scheduling feature that enables users to determine a daily time for activating and deactivating the alarm. The Pro Plan also includes “Just Drive” technology: if a user drives away from home without arming the alarm, the system will immediately send a notification.
