Singer-songwriter Karly Moreno aims to inspire through music

Karly Moreno has been performing throughout Orange County and Los Angeles since 2013 fand appeared on Season 16 of NBC’s The Voice.

Karly Moreno, a singer-songwriter from Orange County, California, is using her skater-girl style and soulful voice to inspire audiences through her music. Her latest single, “Take Me Away,” is now available on all music-streaming platforms.

Moreno is from Mission Viejo, California, and started surfing and skateboarding at a young age. She began singing when she was 5 years old and has been performing throughout Orange County and Los Angeles since 2013. Her love of music comes from her mother, who was in a rock band. 

Just a few of the stages that Karly has performed at are the Rose Bowl and Anaheim Angel stadium for Autism Speaks / We Rock The Spectrum. She opened for Americans Got Talent at the Greek Theater, performed at House of Blues. And has traveled to Nashville and Washington DC for other major performances.

“I have always been passionate about music and how it makes me feel,” Moreno said. “Music is everything. My dream is to connect with, touch, and inspire people through my music. At the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about.”

Moreno released her first single, “My Soul,” in 2014 and followed by a collection of songs.” In 2018, her EP titled “A Collection of Songs” came out. Her most popular song to date, “Naive,” has more than 133,000 listens on Spotify. In addition, Moreno’s music can be found on Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, and Tidal.

Moreno’s big break came in 2019 when she was cast on season 16 of NBC’s The Voice. She began on Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine’s team but faced elimination when Levine chose to keep her competitor during his team’s Battle Round. Rival coach Blake Shelton stepped in to save her, calling her voice “very warm” and “hypnotic.” Moreno spent the rest of her time on Shelton’s team and received a standing ovation for her performance during the Live Cross Battle. Unfortunately, she was eliminated in episode 14.

Her time on The Voice led to fans across the country, and Moreno has taken her performances to several other states. Her growing fanbase can also follow her on social media, where she regularly posts videos of her music and skateboarding. She has more than 106,000 followers on TikTok.

Moreno continues to write and produce music and is in the running to be the next opening act at Audacy’s annual Hollywood Bowl concert.
