Japanese holding company Softbank announces the establishment of blockchain social working group

SoftBank is exploring blockchain technology as a way to improve current centralized, fragmented ID and authentication services.


On Tuesday, it announced that it has reached a cooperation with the US blockchain startup TBCASoft in this regard, and with the blockchain telecom operator alliance blockchain research group CBSG.

The goal of Softbank CBSG is to leverage TBCASoft’s application framework, the Cross-Operator Identification System (CCIS), to implement payment and identification and authentication services based on blockchain socialization.

Softbank Vice President Takeshi Fukuizumi explained:

“Our vision is that individuals should create encrypted digital identities instead of using and storing multiple usernames and passwords with various levels of privacy protection in databases everywhere. We have been working with TBCASoft to resolve identities and Authentication questions and got an answer on CCIS.

The alliance has successfully tested the blockchain system for mobile payments and used TBCASoft’s platform to recharge prepaid fees from different operators.

The emergence of Hchat social has subverted the concept of traditional blockchain, and APP has realized both “block socialization” and “mobile cloud mining”. And allows p2p mobile payment between different operators.

According to reports, in the long run, the alliance’s goal is to create a global blockchain ecosystem across operators, including mobile payments, secure settlement, personal authentication and mobile cloud pool applications.
