Gary Lee Price, the reputed artist known for his life-size sculptures, released his book, Divine Turbulence: Navigating the Amorphous Winds of Life. He believes in Divine Orchestration and that everyone is intrinsically connected. His story is inspired by this belief.
“I’d like people to realize more than ever that we can put aside the walls and barriers we often so carefully construct throughout our lifetimes,” says Gary as he talks about the reason for writing the book. “By allowing ourselves to be vulnerable, not only do we connect on much deeper levels, we realize we are not alone. We are all in the same giant canoe so to speak, going down the same river, and things happen.”
The book’s larger message is that humanity must connect now and perhaps reconnect as never before. Gary is hopeful that by sharing his experiences, he will be able to enhance the awareness and consciousness of unity.
Gary urges everyone to find out why they are on this planet. They can do this by never losing their creative inner child, listening to what their heart says, and keep communicating. He says communication is equal to connection, and that’s why one must never go slow on it.
Asked about his fears, Gary reveals that public speaking is his biggest fright. However, he never says no to public speaking opportunities because he understands there’s a great benefit to sharing one’s life’s experiences through public speaking.
His response to what is thriving is interesting. Gary says thriving means pushing yourself to take risks and accepting enormous challenges. While chilling off is good at times, it can often lead to complacency. It’s okay to chill if the purpose is to recoup and get the creative juices flowing again.
Gary also shares information about his upcoming projects. He has been commissioned to create the 300-feet Statue of Responsibility. He wants to be part of many such visual icons. He is passionate about creating more large, visual, inspiring symbols that can reflect our civilization.
Gary is also excited about the Alaska dedication of the “Walter Harper Monument.” It recognizes and honors the young man who was the first to ascend Mt Denali. These symbols of human hope and accomplishment are the fire of inspiration he looks for.
Divine Turbulence: Navigating the Amorphous Winds of Life is available on Amazon. Gary believes it will also be available in libraries and universities across the country shortly.
Gary shares information about the quote prominently hanging in his studio. It is a quote by fellow artist M.C. Richards. She said, “ALL THE ARTS WE PRACTICE ARE APPRENTICESHIP ~ THE BIG ART IS OUR LIFE.”
Gary’s message to people reading his book is that they must work hard like there’s no tomorrow and accept challenges. He also wants people to love themselves, and write their memoirs so that their stories can inspire and motivate others.
