Meet the designer behind the most iconic Cannes 2022 looks.

After last year’s huge hit at Cannes Film Festival, Lebanese-Italian designer Tony Ward came back this year with even more impressive pieces!

The house is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, which also marks the 25th anniversary since Tony launched his own label within the fashion house. The designer, who graduated from L’École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, worked for Dior, Chloé, and Lanvin for seven years in Paris before creating his own label, now showing during Paris Haute Couture Week.

His capsule collection was made just in time for Cannes. The Côte d’Azur sunlight and sea, the abundance, the glamour, and of course the iconic Palme d’Or, inspired Tony Ward to design a collection celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Cannes film festival.

Layers of fluffy clouds for Urvashi Rautela, a sunny-like ball gown for Jasmine Tookes, a structured black & white dress for Josephine Skriver, or even a swimsuit inspired look for Leonie Hanne… Each piece was delicately hand embroidered taking hundreds of hours of work and endless meters of high-end textiles to create the majestic effect seen on the iconic stairs!

Urvashi Rautela looked absolutely stunning in her Tony Ward White Couture dress. The 300-meter tailor made couture piece is an assemblage of layers of overlaying silky tulle. The overall look bear resemblance to a flowing cotton cloud. A total of 420 hours of work including the confection of delicate handmade grapes that added an exotic touch to the look.

Opposites attract… Josephine Skriver made an appearance in a custom made Tony Ward Couture dress. The sharp structure of the dress gave an edgy & glamorous look to the Model known for her work at Victoria’s Secret.

Simply breathtaking.

Jasmine Tookes stole the show at the red carpet in a Tony Ward Couture dress. The bright yellow color of the pleated taffeta piece left the attendance speechless. A choice of color that radiates positivity & good energy. What an entrance!

Sabrina Elba looked terrific in a custom sheer couture dress with the “Palme D’Or” hand embroidered motif, symbolizing the sacred emblem of “Cannes Film Festival” for the screening of ‘Three Thousand Years of Longing”.

The one and only Leonie Hanne turning heads in the capsule couture Tony Ward swimsuit-like dress featuring delicate crystal embroidery for the screening of “Three Thousand Years of Longing”.

Each piece took hundreds of hours to be created and numerous fittings to ensure the perfect fit for each of the celebrities.

Statement dresses that left many speechless…
