COR Wheels Reveals the Results of The 2023 COR Wheels Tire Test

After discussion among team members, the 2023 COR Wheels Tire Test results are finalized today, with all 196 tires scored and ranked accordingly.

The 2023 COR Wheels Tire Test has concluded successfully, with 196 tires intensively testified on the latest front-wheel and rear-wheel drive models.

After result negotiations and finalization among the team’s professional testers, a complete score chart was finally released in the public eye. Anticipating drivers can now compare and contrast each tire’s performance against each other based on a wide set of criteria.

Highlights of The 2023 COR Wheel Tire Test

The COR Wheels team, one of the leading manufacturers of premium forged wheel models, has successfully wrapped up the annual 10-day tests for best-selling tires in the 2023 season. Taking place in California on the Willow Springs International Raceway from 28th June to 7th July, the anticipated test involved intensive testaments to diverse tire sizes and compounds on different COR wheels models.

Behind the success of the test was the dedicated COR Wheels team consisting of professional engineers and drivers, who evaluated each tire’s handling, durability, and performance through various speeds and road conditions. Comparisons were also drawn where relevant, pitching new tires against previous models or competitors’ representatives.

196 best-seller tires (in North America up to the first three months of 2022) were chosen as the major test contenders, originating from reputed national tire distributors such as:

  • Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company
  • Bridgestone
  • BFGoodrich
  • Falken
  • Cooper
  • Continental
  • General
  • Firestone
  • Pirelli
  • Hankook
  • Michelin

The tires are divided into Touring, Performance, All-Terrain, and Snow/Winter tires, evaluated based on wet, dry, snow/winter, off-road, treadwear, and riding comfort.

The Result Release

Robert Herrera, the President & Automotive Expert at COR Wheels, revealed some insights into the result finalization. “It was not a straightforward, linear process,” Herrera reminisced. “Some of the more complex criteria could divide opinions, so all team members had to discuss them properly to provide the most objective reflection possible in the final score.

“And extended qualities like treadwear could not be confirmed within only ten days of testing,” he continued. “We could only offer a glimpse into how it would turn out in the long run – all the more reason to tread on cautious water when making evaluations.”

Once the board members reached the same conclusion on the tire’s actual range, the work had not yet been done.

The COR Wheels team then proceeded to compare the performance results with verified customer feedback, justifying inconsistencies in rolling resistance, anti-lock braking system, or throttle response if there were any. Customers’ real-life, authentic experience in combined city drivings and vehicle conditions helps enrich the team’s final reports.

“Our members were very pleased with how the results came out,” Herberra concluded. “With inclusive findings and scoring on the tire pros and cons, we aim to offer drivers full insights into the tire industry and help them make the best decision with their tire/vehicle purchases. This ultimate goal has always been a part of the COR Wheels team’s long-standing tradition.”
