December 18, 2023 – Goesan, North Chungcheong Province – The Korea Rural Community Corporation’s Chungbuk Regional Headquarters recently launched an innovative and impactful initiative, the Bee Return Campaign, at Bee Land in Goesan. This significant event, held on November 5, 2023, brought together esteemed guests and key figures to drive a vital environmental and community revival through the revitalization of the beekeeping industry.
A Gathering of Esteemed Leaders
The inaugural event of the Bee Return Campaign saw the convergence of about 40 notable personalities, including National Assembly member Park Deok-heum, Chungcheongbuk-do Assemblyman Lee Tae-hoon, Goesan Deputy County Governor Ban Ju-hyeon, and Ban Hwa-byeong, president of the Chungbuk branch of the Korean Beekeeping Association. Their presence underscored the campaign’s importance and commitment to making a positive impact.
Revitalizing Beekeeping, Enhancing Community Welfare
Marking its debut at a regional level, the event featured the generous donation of 1,000 shares of commemorative planting and wheat raw water. A notable addition was the hovenia trees, specifically chosen to provide resting places for bees. Furthermore, the installation of new beehives in Bee Land aims to boost beekeepers’ incomes and alleviate the initial capital costs of beekeeping.
A Sustainable Collaboration for a Brighter Future
This pioneering campaign is a collaborative effort between the Korea Rural Community Corporation, local government bodies, the Korean Beekeeping Association, and the Bee Land Cooperative. It’s designed to create a sustainable model that benefits the beekeeping community and local residents through shared profits and support for vulnerable community members.
A Commitment Beyond the Event
Shin Hong-seop, head of the Chungbuk Regional Headquarters, emphasized the campaign’s enduring impact: “The Bee Return Campaign is more than just today’s event; it’s a continuous effort to develop the beekeeping industry and create a cycle of profit-sharing that supports the community’s vulnerable groups.” This statement highlights the long-term commitment to the industry’s growth and community welfare.
A Symbol of Environmental and Community Harmony
The Bee Return Campaign at Goesan Bee Land stands as a symbol of hope and progress. It’s not just an environmental initiative but a pledge to foster sustainability, community welfare, and the future prosperity of the beekeeping industry.
