Princeton’s Attorneys Selected Again for NJ SuperLawyers in 2024

Central Jersey – Kingston Law Group proudly announces that Hanan Isaacs has been selected for the 15th consecutive year and Misty Avallone as a Rising Star for the third consecutive year for inclusion in the 2024 edition of SuperLawyers Magazine.

SuperLawyers is a highly respected and widely recognized rating service that annually recognizes outstanding lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process involves a rigorous multi-phase process, including peer nominations, independent research, and peer evaluations. Only the top attorneys in each state or region are selected, making this recognition a significant achievement in the legal profession.

Hanan Isaacs, with an exemplary legal career spanning over 40 years, has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence, legal expertise, and unwavering dedication to serving clients. His inclusion in SuperLawyers for the 15th year in a row is a testament to his ongoing impact and influence in the legal community.

Misty Avallone, recognized as a Rising Star for the third consecutive year, exemplifies the next generation of legal talent. This distinction is reserved for attorneys under the age of 40 or those who have been in practice for less than 10 years, and who have displayed exceptional promise and accomplishment in their respective fields.

Kingston Law Group is proud to have its esteemed attorneys recognized by SuperLawyers Magazine. The firm attributes its success to the dedication, expertise, and client-focused approach demonstrated by Isaacs and Avallone.

Mr. Isaacs was first named to the list in 2010 and has received the honor every year since.

“Being considered in the top five percent of attorneys in the Garden State is a tremendous honor,” he said. “SuperLawyers does not give this award lightly. The review team examines each nominee, their work, case outcomes, and more. To make the list even once shows a huge dedication to the practice of law and the clients served. Being on the list multiple times requires a dedication to the practice that is second to none.”

Ms. Avallone’s work is primarily in family law. She also does some work in the employment law field.  “Family law is more than just helping people with divorce. It is child custody, parenting time, spousal support, and a slew of other legal issues,” she said. “Sometimes it is also about domestic violence and obtaining restraining orders. If you are a victim of domestic violence, you do not surrender your rights. You need someone who knows the law and will fight for you.”

About Kingston Law Group

In 1981, Hanan M. Isaacs created a Central Jersey law partnership with Robert A. Felmeister. The firm was known as Felmeister & Isaacs. From their newly minted law offices In East Windsor, Mercer County, these two young lawyers created an instant brand, to produce, in turn, a loyal following. They took an aggressive stance on their first amendment right to advertise their legal services, including on the radio, a right the New Jersey Supreme Court was slow to recognize and support. Their stance produced a 6-year tussle with the State Supreme Court, resulting in multiple hearings in state and federal court and two changes to the Rules of Professional Conduct, including the current Rule permitting most forms of attorney advertising.

In 1988, Felmeister departed the firm to start a different career, and Isaacs constructed a sole practice focusing on family and divorce (a field in which he is a Certified Family Law Practitioner), employment law for workers, personal injury, insurance bad faith, and a general civil and criminal law practice. He also is an expert in negotiations, mediation, and arbitration of cases, whether as a neutral or a lawyer representing a party in those venues.

From 1998 to 2018, Mr. Isaacs hired paralegals and law associates to handle the firm’s work. He taught dispute resolution at Seton Hall Law School and Rider University, taught lawyers and judges the art and craft of negotiations and mediation, served as a Mediation Trainer and lecturer for the NJ Institute of Continuing Legal Education and NJ Association of Professional Mediators (NJAPM), published many articles on divorce, family law, and Alternative Dispute Resolution, and served in leadership roles at the State Bar Association, on Supreme Court Committees, and at NJAPM. He also served for many years on successive Zoning Boards of Adjustment (in Montgomery Township and Princeton), and on his Homeowners Association Board.

In 2018, Mr. Isaacs formed a law partnership with Misty V. Avallone, Esq., a long-time associate of the firm, who focuses on matrimonial law practice.
