New Report of Privately Held Manufacturing CEOs Reveals 92 Percent Disdain Tariffs According to Industrial Journalist TR Cutler

The marketing research division of TR Cutler, Inc. just completed a new national survey of 1200 privately held manufacturing CEOs. The data from these respondents revealed 92% disdain tariffs. Furthermore, the survey showed the current policy is driving up the costs of importing raw materials, like steel and aluminum, used to manufacture everything from TVs to dishwashers to cars and trucks.

All indicated that the supposed advantages of loosening regulations were not as beneficial, and the detriment of tariffs and manufacturing are becoming more vocally critical. Small and midsized manufacturing CEOs reported that they are operating in a world where they have no idea what is coming next, leaving them with few options but to prepare for the worst. Uncertainty about a handful of unprecedented phenomena — like the grinding trade war with China, the peripatetic Brexit debate, and government-by-tweet — is inflicting both financial and psychological pain on the manufacturing economy.
