Overland Park, KS – Financial planning is not something most Americans are experienced with. It’s not taught in public schools or in most homes. In fact, the only experience most people have with financial planning is what they see briefly on morning news programs. Respected CFP®Bernie Wurts understands this and he understands the value of education when it comes to planning a client’s portfolio. According to Wurts, this deficit must be corrected so that people can make informed decisions about their financial future. He has spent several years teaching financial planning at universities and brings this background to bear in his financial practice.
“As a financial professional, I have fiduciary responsibility over my clients’ portfolios so I must make the best recommendations possible,” Wurts explains. “But as an educator, I also know the value in delivering the right knowledge to help people become more empowered to ask the right questions when meeting with a financial professional.”
With over 25 years of industry experience, Wurts specializes in retirement income and succession planning for pre-retirees, retirees, and business owners. He designs plans using products that guarantee income for the life of the client and manages the balance of their portfolio using risk reduction strategies through the application of multiple non-correlated algorithms, giving the portfolio the opportunity to grow in all market conditions. In addition, he implements advanced tax efficient portfolios and Roth Conversion optimization/arbitrage strategies. He also provides each of his retirement clients with a detailed financial plan that includes strategies to maintain financial wellness and achieve financial goals.
During his career, Wurts has taught financial planning classes at Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska Community Colleges and held seminars, including those eligible for continuing education, for over 14,000 attorneys, accountants, consumers and other professionals. He is a Registered Investment Adviser Representative (fiduciary) and is life insurance licensed. He graduated from the University of Akron with a BS in Business.
Wurts knows that most clients have concerns about two things: their financial future and selecting the right adviser. Choosing a financial adviser with ethics and integrity is a vital part of getting a sense of confidence about their financial future. He says, “I have two goals for every client. First, I want to be the kind of financial adviser whose integrity and character would be good enough for my own mother. And, second, I want to create peace of mind so my clients can enjoy their retirement without worry.”
