Decoding Success, How Engjell Berisha Reached Success From A Young Age

This week we have the opportunity to sit down with ecommerce aficionado Engjell Berisha. If you haven’t heard of him yet, by the end of this article that will be a blast from the past. Engjell is one of the youngest 6 figure store owners in the world, at just 15 years old Engjell has built and scaled an ecommerce empire from his bedroom at his parents house, all while still going to school. Engell now helps others start and scale their own dropshipping store and reach a level of success most can only dream of. 

Hey Engjell, thanks so much for taking the time to sit down with us today, how are you doing?

Hello, I’m doing good thanks for inviting me today it’s my pleasure to talk about my story and my business.

Great, Glad to hear it! Can you take a brief moment to explain who you are and what you do?

My name’s Engjell Berisha and I’m an innovative entrepreneur. I was born in Kosovo & I’m the Co-Founder & CEO of BlueEcom, I currently work as a full-time coach and mentor in BlueEcom.

My journey as an entrepreneur started with Shopify dropshipping when I was 13, I saw my initial success here. I always knew since I was 10 years old that I would never work a normal job or live an average life. Surprisingly, not many people understood me or could relate to me growing up. I’m a world traveler, motivator, and business coach to hundreds of students and adults. My business is mainly focused on Dropshipping and E-commerce.

Thats Awesome Engjell, What exactly is Dropshipping & what does it consist of?

Dropshipping is a sales technique where you sell products that are in third-party inventory, such as a wholesaler or manufacturer. Vendors are not required to pay for the products until their customers pay for them first. It is one way for retailers to avoid investing cash for their inventory. This is mostly done with products from China and some sites that have manufacturers from China, where the product is obtained for a cheaper price and then sold at a higher price, Berisha said.

How exactly did you get started?

When I initially started with Shopify, I failed for the first few months. However, I understood that people only fail because they give up too soon. I started doing dropshipping in 2016, I remember I was sitting in my room with my dad and was doing research on the internet for dropshipping, and I just told my dad to let me try this. When I started I didn’t know what I was doing or what my future was going to be like, But I just didn’t give up and I tried to do my best. I knew that I was not going to try and compete with Amazon, so I knew branded e-commerce was the way to go before everyone switched over.

Thats awesome, congrats on all your success at such a young age, what’s the trick to being successful with dropshipping?

There are many things that go into having a successful dropshipping business, I can say one of the most important things in dropshipping is your marketing, if you have a proper marketing you can sell whatever you want on the internet.

What I did to succeed was to do what nobody else was doing. Everyone was focusing on building general stores that sell every product under the sun. knew branded e-commerce was the way to go before everyone switched. Consumers are getting smarter, and people are starting to understand what dropshipping is, so I made my store look less like a Shopify store and more like a brand.

One of the most important things I try to tell everyone is always trying to create a brand if you want to have a long term business with Shopify & Dropshipping you need to have a store that looks more like a brand rather than just a random store.

Do you get most of your sales through Facebook ads or influencer marketing?

When I first started doing dropshipping I started with Facebook ads, I learned how to use facebook ads effectively because I failed with it for so long, that it was literally impossible for me to fail any more. So I started with Facebook and now I’m also doing influencer marketing, we mainly focus and analyze what we are selling and if we see that we have a better market gap for that product on Facebook and social media than we do with influencer marketing, than we stick to one or the other. Bottom line, don’t stick to just 1 platform and 1 kind of advertising. There is not just paid advertising that you can take advantage of.

Expand it to SEO/ affiliates/referrals, there is press and PR, there is hacking facebook groups and viral social media content as well, learn one master it and after that expand. Learn another, master it, and repeat.

What’s your facebook ads strategy when testing a product?

My main strategy is I like to experiment with different products and see what works best, I also like to experiment with products and scale them when we have holidays such as Halloween, Black Friday, Christmas, etc. When I test a product is I mainly try to find 10 winning products and then find the best 2 out of 10 when I have 2 products that I see that are performing better than the others than I will go and try to find which one of these 2 products I have that are winning products and I see which is performing better and than try to scale.

Do you teach others how to start and scale a dropshipping business?

When I saw the good results I was making for myself, I knew I could help others do the same. Essential elements of my success included ecommerce platform Shopify, market research, an effective business strategy and a lot of hard work. In my courses, I teach my students how to set up Shopify Stores, build relationships with sellers from the countries where they receive the products, find the right products to sell in stores, create a brand with their store and just have the same success I could have. Of course, this did not happen overnight for me. I did spent 2 years perfecting my strategy by learning the ins and outs of drop shipping.

How much does someone need to get started?

I get asked this question many times a day, fun fact I did start my first store back in 2016 with only $200, of course, I didn’t know what I was doing back then since I didn’t have a mentor or someone who could guide me I was all by myself in this new business. I can say that you can start with any budget that you have, by the time you can go by increasing that budget and investing more in ads to test products, see what is working for you, so I can say you can start dropshipping with any budget.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give yourself if you knew what you knew now and were just getting started?

First would be to keep your circle small and spend most of your time with people who have the same vision as you. It is crazy how much I can get done when I am in a room full of entrepreneurs. If I did so when I first started, I would be years ahead of where I am right now. The second is to never give up and have a good mindset, the mindset I think is the key of success in business if you don’t have your mind saying that you will make money and have success in life than don’t start working. I wish I could control my mindset when I first started but I guess I never gave up and this is the reason why I’m here today.
