Denver, Colorado – March 11, 2020 – The Colorado Optometric Association (COA) and 2020 Eyes Colorado have launched their first annual Youth Art Contest. Colorado students grade 1-12 are invited to submit their 2D artwork by April 1, 2020.
The 2020 competition encourages expressing and exploring the value of seeing the world through the eyes and the artist prompt is titled A Beautiful Sight. Vision is a very important part of navigating the world especially for artists. Understanding the value of vision and eye health is the first step in taking care of them. Student artists are encouraged to reflect upon the value of their own eyesight as they craft and create their 2D art.
“We’re excited to get Colorado youth involved in understanding and valuing their own eye health by participating in our first annual art competition,” says Sheryl Benjamin, COA’s Executive Director.
Submissions are accepted digitally and must be clear and ready for use as a magazine cover. Artwork will be judged by a panel of Colorado influencers. The first-place winner’s artwork will be used as the cover of the COA’s August Viewpoints magazine. 2020 submissions are open through April 1, 2020. Winners will be notified by email on May 1, 2020.
