AAXLL Offers Paid Sick Leave for Issues Related to Covid to All Employees Worldwide

Multinational Tech Pioneer Offers Covid Support to Entirety of Its Organization in Canada, US, UK, and EU.

Vancouver, BC – AAXLL Brands Company, the parent company of several international brands selling in Canada, the US, the UK, and the EU, announces paid sick leave for issues related to COVID-19 to all of its employees all around the world. This global approach epitomizes AAXLL’s commitment to the health and well-being of its team, their families, and the international community at large.

Not all governments have given support to workers putting a heavy burden on their shoulders to continue working while sick, working under dangerous conditions, or losing their job. There is tremendous pressure for workers to put themselves at risk. As cases continue to spike and governments debate this contentious economic issue, the onus is on employers to keep employees safe.

“We must ensure that we protect each other during COVID-related absences. Those who are sick, caring for a loved one, or asked to self-isolate by the government, or medical authority, should not fear losing their jobs,” says Joe Maskell, CEO of AAXLL Brands Company. “The workplace can be the epicenter of infections. AAXLL is committed to our team, our loved ones, and our communities. As COVID-19 continues to ravage the world’s population, I implore everyone to do their part to protect each other and stop the spread of the virus.”

As leaders such as Doug Ford, the Premier of Ontario, Canada’s most populous province, grapple with the economic impacts of COVID-19, AAXLL and all of its subsidiaries move swiftly to protect its employees in its home country of Canada and abroad. According to the Public Health Agency of Canada, only 42% of working Canadians qualify for paid sick leave with their employer. Last year, approximately 2,000 Ontarians reported still going into work despite having COVID-19 symptoms, according to Peel’s public health unit.

While President Biden has called for more COVID-19 provisions, including offering tax credits to employers who give paid sick leave to employees getting vaccinated, the opposition argues that it should be up to employers. According to US Federal statistics, only 40% of working Americans have paid sick leave. As the next wave proves to be more difficult with newer variants, AAXLL urges all employers to take these necessary steps.
