Slanted Serif Launches New Artistic Community Focused On Expression Through Skateboard Art.

How skateboard art is becoming the new favored art form.

Slanted Serif, an avid voice in the artistic community, has announced its creation of a brand-new online community focused on bringing new artistic expression through skateboards as a medium. They will be brining both their connections to professional skateboarders and some of the industry’s leading artists as well to deliver exceptional new art to people around the world.

As both a community of artists and skateboarders, they will specialize in making skateboard art the new canvas print and having their artwork displayed in homes around the world.

As they strive to push the medium forward, any artists in the world will be welcome to submit their works to be part of this movement. Each artist will go through Slanted Serifs propriety vetting program and once accepted will have their works available for everyone.

Michael Schmidgall, CEO and Founder of Slanted Serif, stated, “This is such an exciting time for everyone here. After so many years of planning and meeting with tons of people from both the skateboarding and artistic community, it is finally coming to life. Everyone can’t wait to see how people start to receive this visual art form and hope to see skateboards on peoples wall more and more.”

Statistics show that even without the Slanted Serif backing the movement, this new visual art form is on the rise. As searches and interest for skateboard art expand each month, Slanted Serif has reported from their findings that people are striving for new mediums of artistic expression and since the pandemic, they want their home to be a reflection of themselves more and more. People want to be relaxed at home so no wonder they are ranging outside the world of normal canvas prints and looking for something new.

As artists are still trying to figure out how to define themselves and expand into ever changing mediums, skateboards have become the ne main front of their journey. The future of this burgeoning skateboard art form is uncertain. Skaters and artists are in a constant struggle to maintain the legitimacy of their work while still being accessible to the public. With these dueling goals, it is hard for them to know where they fit into today’s world as an artist–and some say that might be just fine.
