Beautifully Sustainable Wedding Rings Made by MyRoots Jewelry

Uniquely superior jewelry handcrafted in all-natural recycled materials.

July 27, 2021 – A wedding band commemorates the union of two souls. A symbol of love for centuries now, wedding rings are traditionally made of gold or other precious metals. But the status quo on wedding rings is metamorphosing; as fashion, the environment, and traditions evolve, MyRoots Jewelry sets new, timeless trends in sustainable fashion jewelry.

Fine jewelry is growing more and more unviable by the minute. Industrial fine jewelry mining accelerates erosion and land pollution, for example, and diamonds are not a renewable resource. Well, not for billions of years, anyway.

Environmentally, it is crucial to change course and take a new approach to jewelry making.

In honor of accentuating and sustaining the beauty of mother nature, MyRoots Jewelry crafts each of its rings from naturally earth-sourced materials like reclaimed wood and semiprecious stones.

“We are bridging the gap between sustainability and the wedding ring industry,” said Spencer Rascon, owner and founder of MyRoots Jewelry.

The designer is proud to source its wood from hands-on, eco-friendly foresters to make a sustainable, equally beautiful alternative to fine jewelry. Hawaiian Koa wood, a rare and protected grain of wood shipped exclusively from Hawaii, is the wood of choice for all MyRoots pieces. Other exotic woods such as Padauk, Ebony and Zebrawood are also beautiful options.

All rings are made by hand in Utah using the bentwood method: wrapping a grain of wood around a circumference to form its shape. The end result is a sturdy, durable wooden ring, which is then hand polished to a waterproof finish.

MyRoots Jewelry brings beauty and sustainability together with its tasteful, carefully handcrafted designs. Unlike metal pieces, wooden rings should be taken off to avoid harsh chemical damage or scratches from manual labor. Certain chemicals can damage the finish of a wooden ring, while strenuous activity can scratch, dull, or outright break it.

Turnaround time may differ throughout the year, but on average, six weeks is a good timeframe to keep in mind. Once shipped, rings take about a week to arrive. However, rush orders are available for an extra fee! Contact MyRoots Jewelry for more information on custom ring ideas, artisanal craftsmanship, and ring sizing.
