Tad’s Records, an international recording studio in Kingston, Jamaica is thrilled to announce the release of new lead single De Ranglin and album Two Colors from Jamaica’s sensational guitarist Ernie Ranglin and renowned saxophonist Dean Fraser. The new lead single from their album Two Colors features another phenomenal reggae artist, Deejay Big Youth.

The album, Two Colors is composed of 12 songs, produced by Fraser. The songs are mainly instrumentals and embellished with fantastic reggae and jazz melody. The album is programmed to be released on May 27th, in time for the celebration of the veteran guitarist’s 90th birthday in June. The album will be released digitally and on physical CD by Tad’s Records.

De Ranglin, the album’s lead single, which features Deejay Big Youth is set to be pre-released by Tad’s Records on all digital platforms on the 8th of April, while the official release date is scheduled for April 22nd.

When asked how the two veteran artists managed to collaborate and create the masterpiece which is the current relish of reggae lovers, Fraser said, “We both did tracks in our own space; I recorded in Kingston and he recorded in Ochi [Ocho Rios]. But all tracks were laid at Tad’s studio in Kingston then the leads were recorded in Ochi.”

Some of the revered musicians who worked on the album alongside Fraser and Ranglin include bass guitarists Mikey Fletcher and Dale Haslam, keyboardists Bowie McLaughlin and Andre Marsh, drummer Desi Jones and guitarist Lamont “Monty” Savory.

Ranglin, a Jamaican guitarist, has deeply embedded footprints in Jamaican musical history. Some of his achievements include playing and arranging on classic songs like, The Wailers’ It Hurts to Be Alone and Eric Monty Morris’ Say What You’re Saying. Ranglin was honored with the Order of Jamaica in the 2021 National Honors and Awards on Jamaica’s 59th Anniversary of Independence.

Fraser is a Jamaican saxophonist who has contributed to the production of hundreds of reggae music. Since the mid-1970s, he has worked with Sly and Robbie, Luciano, Bob Marley, Tarrus Riley, Duane Stephenson. Fraser has released several more albums since and he is recognized as one of Jamaica’s top musicians. He was awarded the Musgrave Medal by the Jamaican government in 1993 in recognition of his services to music.
