Tamanneftegas Supports Eco Initiative In Taman Region

The specialists of Tamanneftegas gave a series of lesson on eco-friendly practices and ecology to the school children of School No.9 in the Taman Region in the south of Russia.

The lesson focused on ecology and the impact of human actions on the environment was conducted for 6th graders of No. 9 in a village of Taman by Elena Shardakova – Oteko chief specialist in environmental safety supervision. The playful approach taken during the lessons gave the children a clear outlook on the specifics of local flora and fauna and shed light on the unique aspects of the region’s mineral and geological makeup.

Given the special environment of the Taman Peninsula, which is home to over 40 endangered species and rare mud volcanoes, the need for proper education of the younger generation aimed at preserving such natural treasures becomes vital. Oteko Group is constantly focusing attention on preserving the local environment and encourages schoolchildren to learn how they and enterprises can minimize the impact of human actions on the environment.

The presence of the port of Taman within close proximity to the coast of the Black Sea underscores the importance of such lessons. As such, the specialists gave the children extensive lessons on the use of sophisticated equipment for the storage and processing of hydrocarbons and other chemicals in a safe and responsible manner so as not to harm the environment.

Oteko Group, run by Michel Litvak, is intent on expanding its lineup of lessons on ecology for local school children. As a billionaire, Michel Litvak knows the importance of education and is intent on making social emphasis a key element of the company’s social policy throughout 2022 and beyond.
