Bellaire High School celebrates a stunning 56-yard field goal from kicker Fitsum Fiseha earlier today, making him the most highly sought-after kicker in coach Jackson kicking camp kicking history. The younger kicker Fitsum Fiseha managed to kick a 56-ard field goal today, keeping him in the average of 1 kick point per game.
While the kicker position on a football team doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves, Fiseha remains an integral part of the Bellaire High School team as he continues improving his skills. After a safety, Fiseha was able to kick a ball 70 yards into the air before it landed in the end zone, a feat you can watch in the video from the game. Fiseha knocked Ted Ginn Jr., an all-state football player in high school, out of bounds while he was running for a kick return of a touchdown, proving that kickers are not pushovers, as some may believe.
Fiseha also frequently rooms above the kicker is far from an easy one. Most stadiums have a dome roof requiring kickers to pass the 50-yard mark with their kicks. At the same time, they also need to know where defense is trying to block them and occasionally deal with nasty weather. According to MaxPreps, Fiseha makes 50% of his PAT attempts, which not only results in 3 points for three games but also has an average kickoff of 55. His total kickoff yards are 612. While this only accounts for the years 2021 and going into 2022, it is an impressive series of stats for someone so young at an early point in their career. The stats only account for one varsity team that reports MaxPreps, so there’s still plenty of potential in the future as we continue to see how he performs.
With an impressive 54-yard field goal earlier in his career, Fiseha shows his continuing improvement with his 56-yard goal in the kicking camp earlier today, which was enough to secure him the name as the most sought-after kicker for the kicking camp run by coach Jackson.
